On Tuesday, March 5th, families gathered at Charles Haskell Elementary School to participate in a family game night hosted by Title One. Called "Nacho" Average Game Night, the evening included nachos, door prizes, board games of all kinds, and a free book for each student.
The highlights included families and friends bonding over classic games like Battleship and newer games like Yeti in My Spaghetti. The library and cafeteria were full of game players. Lots of laughter and fun was had by all. "It is wonderful to see families enjoying time together. Never underestimate the importance of playing!" said Library Media Specialist Sarah Shackford.
At the end of the night, each student received a book to take home to add to their home libraries. The Title One program at Charles Haskell plans events like this one to highlight the importance of reading and math as well as the importance of the roll that families play in students' educations.
